Sony Trinitron

In my opinion, Trinitrons were the best CRTs ever made. Their image quality outclassed LCDs for years. As these excellent pieces of technology age, proper maintenance becomes essential. Check out my tutorials or visit any of the useful links.

Trivia:
G520 came out in October 2000 in japan. October 12th or something to be exact according to press release i found while back. But it did take time to get into other markets for some reason. July 2001 is pretty much about right for rest of the world.

How to setup WinDas

DELL Trinitron usage hours

This easy trick will show you how long the CRT was used.

Works on:
DELL (P1130, P992), SONY (CPD-G520, GDM-F520, GDM-C520)

Doesn't work on:
DELL (P1110, P991), SONY GDM-FW900

1. Turn on the monitor.


2. Disconnect the VGA cable from the monitor (or switch to the second source if there is no signal on it). You should see below information.


3. Hold the minus button over 5 seconds.


4. Usage hours are on the bottom. My model worked over 32k hours already.
